Nutrition, Lifestyle Coaching & Medically Supervised Weight Loss.

Frequently Asked Questions
BW Body and Wellness does not believe in one cookie-cutter approach to weight loss, simply because it does not work. Your insurance will be billed based on medical co-morbidities such as weight gain, diabetes, pre-diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, heart disease, etc in addition to your BMI. Co-pays and deductibles do apply so understanding your insurance coverage is important before starting the program.
This depends on your personalized plan and will be discussed at your initial planning visit. Visits can range from once a week to once a month – usually 2 weeks is ideal for enough accountability to keep you on track with your journey. While the initial planning meeting will need to happen in Eldersburg, future meetings can happen at either practice location as well as virtually.
Visits will be 1:1 in person or virtual with Amie Howard, integrative nutritionist. All visits with Amie will involve some communication with a Body and Wellness Consultant who is in a supervisory role. We will review the visit content, progress and goal-setting, reconcile medications and answer any additional questions you may have.
Our goal is to help you to obtain and maintain your health goals. Your consistency in building habits around nutrition, movement and mindset will take time – usually at least 4-6 months. Some motivated patients have stayed with us up to 2 years!
