Here is Rachel describing herself to you:
My interest in food, nutrition, and natural healing dates back to my first job as a teenager at an independently owned health food store. From that time, I embarked on a self-guided education about herbs, nutritional supplements, natural healing, and whole foods cooking before beginning my formal graduate studies. Now, as a licensed nutritionist, I work with clients one-on-one in my clinical practice, write about nutrition-related topics, and speak to groups to help people develop skills, strategies, and a knowledge base so they can use food to feel better.
Food and cooking were my avenues into the field of healthcare, and I believe that healthy food isn’t very healing if you don’t enjoy the experience of eating it! Real food can and should both please the senses and support the body, and it’s my passion to support people to determine their unique nutritional needs and find simple, satisfying ways to meet them.
I work with people not just for weight loss, but also to increase energy, regulate digestion, improve sleep, and achieve many other wellness goals. I have special interests in food sensitivities, fertility and pregnancy, mood support, thyroid function, and weight loss. Some of my tools include whole foods cooking education, mindful eating practices, functional blood work analysis, supplement recommendations, and menu and recipe ideas.
I’m excited to bring the work I do to patients in the Body and Wellness Program through a series of monthly nutrition workshops. Come kick off the series and the new year with me on:
